From bold beginnings to industry leadership— the story of our growth
1948
- B. M. Shah & Co. established in Bombay by Mr. Ambalal Manilal Shah.
- Trading & distributing of caustic and alkali products.
1980
- Mr. Dinesh Ambalal Shah and his brother established International chemical manufacturers in Mumbai.
- Manufacturing of chemicals for the flavours & fragrances industry.
1994
- Acquired Dazzle Dyes Pvt. Ltd. In Tarapur, Maharashtra.
- Started the manufacturing of pharmaceutical intermediates under the name of Bharat Rasayan Tarapur.
2010
- Novaphene Specialities Pvt. Ltd. was established as a flagship company to unify group activity with a strategic vision.
- Merged group entities under a single company.
2014
- Entered the personal care industry with a dedicated vertical.
- Started the manufacturing of products such as Dimethyl Isosorbide, Ethylhexylglycerin, 1, 2-Hexanediol, & Caprylyl Glycol.
2018
- Established Unit 2 for expansion of personal care ingredients.
- EHG, DMI, HG, and CG - each REACH registered.

Our Name
‘Novaphene’ originates from the Latin words “Nuevo” meaning “new” and “PHENE” meaning a new trait or characteristic defined by genes or DNA, which we optimistically embody in our organization’s values and actions.
